Live Free & Dye, Pinestead Farm, Karma Balm, Gelo's Logworks, Forest Cabin Studio, Kathleen Giford, Meadowstone Farm, Center for Balanced Health, Eileen Jeffries,---(I know that I have probably missed a few, but it has been a long day and I am doing this off of the top of my head) Thank you so much for bringing your wonderful energy and enthusiasm back to Bethlehem for a 2nd season.
It was great fun to meet our new vendors face to face. There has been so much contact via phone and e-mail, that it was wonderful to be able to finally match a face to a voice. Courtney Samuels of Genuine Jamaican had a mouth watering assortment of food and condiments. Stephanie Lemay baked for days and within 1 hour of her arrival, news of her delicious doughnuts had spread through out the town. Confections by Jen quickly had a chocolate lollipop in every mouth and Christine, our resident Master Gardener met most of the town in the space of 3 hours. Diane Arcand had the most exquisite embroidered cards--I have not seen anything so beautiful or original. Bill Tulp & his son were a last minute addition as were Lars & Maggie, but they brought great flair and gorgeous plants at the last minute. (again, I know I am leaving some people out, but this is off the cuff) Thank you all for choosing the Local Works Farmers' Market as the venue for selling your products.
A very special thanks to out volunteers this morning who spent the early part of the morning being ordered around by me to move tents and blow up balloons, and the rest of the day, painting faces, juggling, and tying balloons into fantastic animals. Greg, Emily and Zeb, I swear I will cook you all a feast when my kitchen gets put back together! And speaking of volunteers, we are very lucky to have as part of our team, "The Second Basers" made up of Emily, Cassie, Danielle & Sammy. A great shout out to them for what they are doing... All of them are walking in the Susan B. Komen 3 day walk in Boston in August with a fund raising goal of $10,000. They have been amazing in their efforts this year and they are half-way there. We feel lucky to have them and are promoting their fund raising efforts. Thank you to everyone today, that bought a t-shirt or stuffed a dollar in their bucket. It is a fabulous double whammy for WREN & the Susan B. Komen Foundation to have such wonderful young women involved in our/their cause.
Okay, I think I am finished for now and taking the rest of the afternoon off, but I will be gearing up on Monday, for a wonderful wednesday opening market! But this one might be hard to top!
